About me

My name is Yutaro Kawada. I’m a master’s student at IAMAS (Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences ). As my master's research, I am trying to create an art piece on the theme of biological time and entropy. I decided to join these sessions because I’d like to gain knowledge and experience in “wet lab” biology. I’m trying to make bio art these days, but I usually have various interests such as creating media for children's play and haptic media.

My latest work is the below, named “Horologium Paramecium”.

In this work, I tried to overwrite human time with other living things’ time. I measured body clock (circadian rhythm) of paramecium brusaria, and broadcasted it over radio wave that has the same frequency with the one being used for adjusting radio clock.
